Our clinical service pillars

Comprehensive hearing assessments
Our diagnostic hearing assessments are the foundation of effective hearing care. Using clinically recognised testing, we assess hearing sensitivity, speech understanding, sound processing and related concerns for both adults and children. This assessment-led approach allows us to identify hearing loss symptoms accurately and recommend appropriate next steps.

Access to all leading brands of hearing aids
As Marlborough’s only independent, brand-neutral clinic, we provide access to all leading hearing aid manufacturers, enabling you to choose the aid that best meets your needs and budget.

LYRIC for 24/7 hearing
LYRIC is an extended‑wear, invisible hearing device designed to be worn continuously for months at a time. Sitting invisibly within the ear canal, LYRIC enables you to live without restrictions - wear it while sleeping, wearing a helmet, wearing headphones or enjoying active sports in our beautiful part of the world. It may even provide some relief from tinnitus!

Auditory rocessing disorder (APD)
Auditory processing disorder affects how the brain processes sound, particularly in noisy environments, even when standard hearing tests appear normal. We provide APD assessment and auditory training programmes for adults and children aged 7+.

Tinnitus assessment and management
Ringing, buzzing or other persistent sounds in the ears can be disruptive and difficult to manage without clear guidance. We provide clinical tinnitus assessment to help identify contributing factors and outline appropriate management strategies, which may include sound therapy, hearing support or monitoring over time.

Ear wax removal - microsuction
Microsuction is a gentle, clinically preferred method of ear wax removal that allows clear visualisation of the ear canal. It is suitable for adults and children and is often an important first step when hearing changes or blockage are present.
Independent, clinical and brand‑neutral
Blackmore Audiology is a locally owned, independent audiology clinic.
We work with all leading manufacturers, meaning our recommendations are based on your needs, not our sales targets.
Our role is to assess, diagnose and guide – not to promote a particular hearing aid brand. This diagnostic‑led approach supports informed decision‑making and your long‑term hearing health.
Funding pathways for hearing care
We can advise you of New Zealand funding pathways for hearing care and explain what may apply to your situation.

Some individuals may qualify for Disability Support Services hearing aid funding or subsidies. Eligibility criteria apply, and we help explain what support may be available.
