If you are:
A New Zealand resident or citizen
Over the age of 16
Have not purchased hearing aids in the last six years, and
Do not meet other funding criteria including ACC and Veterans Affairs
You should be eligible for $511.11 per hearing aid ($1022.22 for a pair) aid under the hearing aid subsidy scheme.
After a diagnostic hearing test at Blackmore Audiology, choosing and trialing your hearing aids, our audiologist will apply for this funding on your behalf through the enable website.

You may be eligible to have the cost of your hearing aids fully funded if you meet these criteria:
Have had a significant hearing loss since childhood
Have a hearing loss and secondary disability, or
Have a community services card and are:In paid employment for 30 hours per week or more, or
A registered job seeker seeking paid employment, or
Doing voluntary work (more than 20 hours per week), or
Studying full time, or
Caring full time for a dependent person.
This funding covers only the price of the hearing aid and does not cover the cost of a hearing assessment or fitting fees that are charged.
After your hearing test at Blackmore Audiology, our audiologist will determine your edibility apply for this funding on your behalf through the enable website.
ACC – Accident Compensation Corporation
Getting aids and equipment to help with an injury (acc.co.nz)
If you have:
A significant and longstanding history of occupational noise exposure in New Zealandyou may qualify for $3000-5000 towards the cost of hearing aids, fitting fees and follow-up appointments from ACC.
After your hearing test at Blackmore Audiology, our audiologist can determine your edibility and initiate your claim with ACC. If your claim is accepted by ACC, they will also contribute towards ongoing costs including appointments, batteries, hearing aid repairs and wax removal.
Veterans Affairs New Zealand
Hearing Aids and Appliances | Veterans’ Affairs (veteransaffairs.mil.nz)
If you:
Served with the military in New Zealand
and:
Do not meet the ACC funding criteria,
Veterans Affairs may be able to help you fund the cost of hearing aids.
After your hearing test at Blackmore Audiology, our audiologist can help you apply for this funding.
Work and Income New Zealand / Ministry of Social Development
Help from other organisations – Work and Income
If you:
Currently receive a benefit through WINZ,
You may be eligible for a loan to help you purchase hearing aids.
After your hearing test at Blackmore Audiology, our audiologist will write a letter of recommendation for you to submit to WINZ in order to apply for this loan.
